Ms. Kara Russell was recognized as going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty. In her nominated form, Chief Human Resource Officer, April Kuhn, shared that Ms. Russell began the role of HR Licensure Specialist in November 2024 and hit the ground running. She worked diligently to build systems of support for teachers who need to obtain, update, or renew their license.  In addition, she serves as a liaison between hiring managers and potential candidates by communicating job offers and updates.

She serves as the financial administrator and processes various human resource related budgetary items. When the team is planning events, Ms. Russell jumps in to help or lead. While all of the above mentioned tasks are done well, the greatest contribution to the HR Team and district is the outstanding service she provides to MGSD employees and new hires.  

The relationships Ms. Russell has established within the district and at the state level with the Department of Public Instruction licensure department has enabled HR to more efficiently resolve issues. Ms. Russell is a problem solver and overall great person to work with and we are thankful she is a part of the MGSD team!
