Juniors and Seniors with an unweighted GPA of 2.8 or higher should meet with the MHS CCP Coordinator to identify a Pathway consistent with their long term academic goals.

Think of a "Pathway" as a group of classes.

College Transfer Pathways offer college credits that transfer to public colleges and universities in NC.

Course grades are weighted on the 5.0 GPA scale.

Students may only take classes within their Pathway.

Students may only select one College Transfer Pathway.

Career & Technical Education Pathways

Students earn college credits towards certifications in a variety of careers.

Students may select two CTE Pathways, or one College Transfer Pathway and one CTE Pathway.

Many course credits in CTE Pathways are not weighted on the 5.0 GPA scale.

Students may only take classes within their Pathway(s).

This document shows all CTE Pathways and the classes within each.

Juniors and Seniors with an unweighted GPA lower than 2.8 should meet with the MHS CCP Coordinator to explore options.

Select CTE Pathways are available to students whose unweighted GPA is lower than 2.8.

  • Mid-August:  Most Fall CCP classes begin.

    Mid-September:  12 Week Courses Begin.

    Mid-September:  Deadline for new Spring applications and Change of Pathway Requests.

    October:  Spring classes are available to view.

    October:  MCC Fall Break.

    Mid-October:  Second 8 Week Courses Begin.

    November:  Spring registration opens.

    December:  CCP conducts a Spring Registration Audit and begins removing students from classes that are not in their Pathway.

    January:  Most Spring CCP classes begin.

    January:  New CCP applications and Change of Pathway requests are available in A215 for current 10th and 11th graders.

    March:  Summer CCP course selection opens for current Juniors and Seniors.

    April:  Fall Course Selection opens for current 10th and 11th graders.

     

  • Students may only register for courses listed in their selected Pathway.

    Students must register themselves for CCP classes through MCC’s Self Service.

    To participate, students must have a completed application through CFNC, signed MGSD Transportation Form, and signed MHS Checklist on file in A215.

    CCP students must have at least one class scheduled at MHS during each semester of CCP participation.

    Mitchell Community College and Mooresville High School have different grade replacement (grade suppression) policies for students who re-take courses.

    Students are responsible for purchasing textbooks, access codes, and additional class supplies required for each class. Textbook and access codes may cost over $100, so plan accordingly.

    If students withdraw from a class, or are withdrawn from a class for any reason after the MCC drop/add period, they will receive a grade of 55 on their MHS transcript and are required to reimburse MHS for the class fee. They will also receive a W on their college transcript. Class fees vary based on credit hours. 

    Students are not limited in the number of CCP classes that they take during the school year or during the summer. The four class averages awarding the highest quality points per semester are counted towards a student’s GPA. The one class average awarding the highest quality point per summer will count towards a student’s GPA. 

    MHS will convert Mitchell letter grade to numeric grades:

    A - 95 C - 75 F - 55 No Show - 55

    B - 85 D - 65 W - 55

    Students with IEPs or 504 Plans must coordinate with the MCC Office of Disability Services to continue receiving accommodations through CCP classes.

    Mitchell Community College will only communicate with MHS students through their Mitchell Community College email address. Students must check the MCC email address regularly throughout the school year and summer. Follow these instructions to check your MCC email account.

    Some CCP classes will satisfy high school graduation requirements. That list can be found through this link.

    Only classes on the Articulation Agreement receive added weight towards a high school GPA. That list can be found through this link.

  • Email the MCC instructor using your MCC email address. Include a greeting ("Good morning"), a full explanation of the concern, say "thank you," and then sign your first and last names at the bottom. Use your MCC email by following these instructions.
